Dressing for a winter wedding proved to be more difficult than I thought. It was hard to prepare for all winter elements (the weather, christmas colours and staying wedding appropriate). Compared to summer weddings, I think winter weddings are more glamorous which is the perfect excuse to buy a statement dress which can be worn over and over again during the holidays (work parties, balls, dinners and NYE) . Last weekend, I attended my first winter wedding – I wore a For Love & Lemons black lace dress (which I previously wore to a ball in summer) with strappy Gianvitto Rossi stilettos and a long black evening coat (from Zara). I stayed simple with accessories and ramped up the glam with a bouncy blow dry and taupe satin eyeshadow.
Last weekend, I got some new ideas of styles to look and feel more festive for a wedding – rich colours, structured fabrics, two piece suits, fur wraps, dark winter florals and satin jumpsuits. Below I’ve linked some of my favourite looks which are perfect for a winter wedding or for any other events coming up over the festive season!
