When you’re in a city that never sleeps, there’s definitely no time for sleep. City breaks are the opposite from relaxing, you actually need a relaxing holiday to recover from a city break! So for us, it was up early after a late night at the blog awards, there was no time to waste! We headed to Covent Gardens, which was conveniently a 5 minute walk from out hotel, to shop the little markets, pop up designer stores like the Chanel beauty store and of course, Ladurée for the best macaroons. I love all of the quirky stalls with hand made jewellery and trinkets, theres nothing like getting your hands one of a kind jewellery! I still have beaded skull bracelets I purchased at Spitalfields market around 6 years ago – some of you might have spotted them in my looks, I wear them almost everyday!
Bond street was our next stop and my favourite. Every designer store you could imagine within steps of one another! As much as I wanted to raid them all, there wasn’t enough time so Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Isabel Marant made the cut. The Chanel boutique was like five stores in one with an upstairs and downstairs. They stocked the coolest embellished boy bags (on the wish list) and even tennis equipment. I love how grand their stores are, it’s like being in a maze. Chanel is definitely a store I don’t mind getting lost in!
After visiting the Isabel Marant pop up in Dubai, it was my first time in an actual store. This store is very minimal with a chilled out vibe. The focus is definitely on the products with sandals placed specifically to match the outfits on the rails.
Statement pieces will be with you for life, so choose wisely! Although they are expensive, I like to think of them as an investment. This Topshop Unique embellished jacket has been a statement piece in my wardrobe for almost 7 years now. I’ve worn it multiple times with different outfits – during the day, going out at night, summer and winter. A saying I go by is – find your style and stick with it. I like to buy high street pieces which can be continuously replaced from season to season and sometimes kept however my favourite pieces to buy are designer accessories which I know I’ll have forever. The versatile yet striking pieces that turn heads.
